Which finish suits your space?
Start with the room, substrate condition and intended use. Colour and samples come next. This guide helps you organise your options before requesting an assessment in Kuwait.
Bathrooms and laundry rooms
Microcement can be assessed when you want a continuous wall and floor appearance. It depends on a stable substrate, water-area preparation, drainage and a suitable protective system.
- Leaks or loose tiles need investigation and treatment first.
- For showers, review waterproofing, slopes and the selected system's slip characteristics.
- Define walls, floors or both and whether fixtures remain.
A decorative finish does not repair plumbing leaks or replace waterproofing checks.
Kitchens
Identify walls, floor, splashback or cabinet fronts separately. Each surface has different use requirements.
- Use coatings or a microcement system suited to the particular surface.
- Flat marble or wood alternatives require confirmation of water, heat and cleaning suitability.
- Check instructions, heat-source clearance and edge details near the oven and sink.
- Worktops need separate assessment; wall-finish specifications cannot be assumed to apply.
Living rooms, diwaniyas and TV walls
For colour renewal, assess the paint and wall condition first. For decorative changes, compare flat stone, wood or marble alternatives and microcement wall finishes.
- Review samples in daylight and normal evening lighting.
- Plan the screen, sockets and maintenance access before work.
- Ask about cleaning and future repair for high-contact areas.
- Repair the source of moisture before covering a wall.
Floors and corridors
Traffic, water, furniture and cleaning determine the choice. Microcement offers a continuous appearance; epoxy systems differ by use. Compare the actual proposed systems after checking the substrate.
- Review cracks, moisture and substrate stability.
- Identify residential, shop, storage or garage use.
- Ask about slip, scratches, walking and furniture-placement times.
- For outdoor and sun-exposed areas, confirm system approval before selection.
Hidden doors
To integrate a pantry or store-room door with the wall, define swing direction, frame, hinges, clearances and maintenance access. A finish sample alone does not resolve the door and wall details.
Choose according to substrate condition
- Stable ceramic tiles: installation over them may be possible after inspection and preparation.
- Moving tiles or recurring cracks: investigate movement and repairs before finishing.
- Moisture or leaks: treat the source and reassess readiness.
- New home: coordinate plumbing, electrical work and doors.
- Occupied home: plan staging, furniture protection and use of the space.
Before approving a quotation
- Define surfaces, dimensions and preparation.
- Approve the colour, texture and sheen sample.
- Check inclusions, exclusions and extra work.
- Agree stages and return-to-use timing.
- Keep the system name, colour code and care instructions.
