Microcement Handover: Checks Before Furniture and Water | Almusaileem

الكاتب:

Handover includes reviewing the finish, recording issues and receiving written permissions for walking, furniture and water. A dry-looking surface does not mean full use is allowed. Actual system, protection and site conditions govern timing.

Documents to receive

Obtain actual primer, microcement and protective product names, colour code and sheen, date/time of the last layer, relevant data sheets and approved sample record. Rivedil’s SCUDO range illustrates why a generic material name is insufficient. A project worksheet may organise measurements, samples and issues, but is not technical approval or a binding acceptance certificate.

Joint inspection before covering

Enter only with the installer’s permission and inspect before furniture, in normal lighting and daylight where available:

  • Colour and texture against the approved sample, noting differences needing explanation.
  • Peeling, bubbles, visible cracks, sharp roughness or incomplete areas.
  • Wall/floor, column, threshold and other-material edges.
  • Door operation and access to drains and covers.
  • Joints, drain edges, pipe outlets and unfinished gaps.

Do not scratch, strike or modify the surface to test adhesion. A specialist determines any technical testing.

Separate permissions

Request dates for light walking, other trades, furniture/appliances and water/shower use. Add ventilation, coverings, rugs and first cleaning. Permission for one activity does not cover the rest. The Oxyda catalogue describes stages and temperature-dependent times; your installer must use current instructions for actual layers and conditions.

In bathrooms, document agreed waterproofing, drainage and junction work. Visual inspection does not verify waterproofing; do not flood as an improvised test. Specialists coordinate suitable testing after required curing.

Furniture and trades

Lift rather than drag furniture and use approved protective pads. Ideal Work recommends felt pads and protection during subsequent work for Microtopping. Agree coverings and adhesives with the installer before use. Plan trades, routes and tools and prioritise documented care instructions.

Record and close issues

Use a wide and close photo, room/location/date, response, agreed action and recheck date. Specify the defect rather than a vague quality complaint. Mark accessible and restricted areas. Additional layers may reset return-to-use dates.

Hypothetical issue record—not an actual project report

A-01: bedroom threshold, located in wide and close photos. A shinier area and raised edge are compared with the sample and adjacent finish under normal lighting. Appearance requires review; effect on door movement is unconfirmed; cause remains open. Next step is installer assessment, defined repair materials/boundaries and agreed visual expectation. Status: awaiting diagnosis.

Close this example only after agreed work, required curing, appearance and door-operation review and result photos. Record unresolved differences explicitly. Topciment notes that repair appearance may differ from surrounding material, so agree visual expectations and retain comparable before/after images. Diagnosis and acceptance depend on your actual project and agreement.

Before completion, ensure issues are recorded, products identified and permitted-use dates written. Share access instructions with family and movers.
